UNHCR will resume operations on 25 April 2017 (Tuesday).

Updates on Health


Dear Community Leaders,

Please be informed that Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) has revised their fees for UNHCR cardholders effective 1 November 2016.  All UNHCR cardholders are now required to pay the foreigner's rate.

In addition, effective 5 December 2016, the Health Unit walk-in counter at UNHCR will be opened on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Please take note of the changes in the days of operation.

UNHCR Office Resumes Operation On 16 August 2016 (Tuesday)


Dear Community Leaders,

Please be informed that UNHCR will resume operations starting 16 August 2016 (Tuesday) for the following processes only:

1.   If your UNHCR card has expired, please come to the Office and we will renew and upgrade your card to the new UNHCR card. 
2.   UNHCR will continue to process persons who are released by the Government of Malaysia from immigration detention centres. 
3.   For individuals seeking UNHCR’s normal support in areas related to health, education, livelihoods, resettlement and for particularly vulnerable individuals, our work will continue as normal.


UNHCR will keep you inform regarding all other processes.  Once again, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Volunteers For 2nd June 2016





Dear leaders,

We have a large group of volunteers who would like to help with the refugee communities. They are willing to commit one day on the 2nd of June to help you out at your area of needs. They are contributing their skills which can include painting, building, gardening, cleaning or whatever that is needed.

If you have a need in your centre, shelter or school, please inform us by 13th May 2016 and we will get back to you.
Please note that this group of volunteers is only available on 2nd June 2016 (Thursday).

On behalf on Dignity (Harvest), we would like to announce that they are looking to hire the following two positions:


Security Guard

Responsibilities
·         Regular patrolling of Dignity premises
·         Managing traffic during high peak time (arrival of students, going home)
·         Helping with other tasks as requested by the management

Requirements
·       Male candidate
·       Concerned about welfare and safety of children
·       Language: speak and understand basic English.
·       Able to communicate with students of different age
·       Flexible to work during odd hours
·       Willing to work hard
·       Have patience
·       Alert of surroundings

At Dignity, we believe in impacting lives of children through quality education and lives of educators through professional development. Hired candidates will receive:

·         Regular feedbacks from supervisors
·         Salary: RM1,200 to RM1,600

Assistant Teacher: Toddlers/Preschool / Lower Primary Programmes

Responsibilities
·      To guide students (aged 1-3, 4-6 or 7-10 years old) based on Malaysian syllabus, using Montessori methodology. 
·      To track students learning progress.
·      To create materials according to students learning needs.
·      To care for students wellbeing.

Requirements
·         Candidate must be able to speak and understand English.
·         Passionate in making an impact in children’s lives.
·         Willing to work hard
·         Teachable and willing to teach others
